4th Annual Sounside FunFair at the Nags Head Event Site
June 13-16 from 5-11 pm
Pricing: Ride Tickets are Between $2 - $6 Per Ride | All Rides Pass - $25
The Soundside Event Site is Nags Head is looking more festive than usual this weekend. Stop by between 5-11 pm for some childhood nostalgia and old-fashioned carnival fun. Enjoy rides, games and concessions. Limited parking is available on-site, along with shuttle service at Nags Head Elementary School at 6:30pm, 7:30pm, 8:30pm, and 9:30pm. The shuttle bus will depart from the FunFair event site to return to the off-site parking location at 8:00pm, 9:00pm, 10:00pm and 11:00 pm.
*Event Tip: Make sure to hop on the ferris wheel around 8:30 pm to catch a bird’s eye, sunset view of the Roanoke Sound. Also pack bug spray - just in case!
37th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival at Jockey’s Ridge State Park
June 14-16 from 10 am - 4 pm
Giant pandas, sea creatures and more will take over Jockey’s Ridge this weekend at the Rogallo Kite Festival. This annual event honors Francis Rogallo, NASA scientist and creator of the flexible wing. His invention led to the start of hang gliding and impacted the style of stunt kites, power kites and hang gliders we see today. The festival features a large display of colorful kites over Jockey’s Ridge, family friend activities and free kite flying lessons sponsored by Kitty Hawk Kites.

Manteo’s Farmers Market at 104 Fernadno Street
June 15 from 8 am - 12 pm
Start your Saturday morning off with a cup of coffee and a relaxing morning shopping at the Farmer’s Market in Manteo. Stock up on local produce, treats and goods. If you’re searching for a unique gift or just want to ease into the weekend, pop in to the shops downtown. You’re sure to find the perfect gift for a special occasion or treat for yourself.
* Event Tip - If parking is unavailable downtown, travel over the bridge to Roanoke Island Festival Park’s lot. If you’re in the mood for history and adventure, visit the park and learn about the first English settlement on Roanoke Island.
